Dirk Kuyper
President and Chief Executive Officer -
Dirk Kuyper joined Alphatec Spine as President and Chief Executive Officer in June of 2007. Since 2004, Mr. Kuyper served as the President of Aesculap, Inc. From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Kuyper served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Aesculap. From 1998 to 2001, Mr. Kuyper served as the Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Aesculap. From 1990 to 1998 Mr. Kuyper held various sales positions of increasing responsibility at Aesculap. Mr. Kuyper served on active duty for four years in the U.S. Army where he achieved the rank of Captain. Mr. Kuyper holds a B.S. in Biology from the University of Miami and an Executive Education Certificate from the Graduate School of Sales and Marketing at Syracuse University.

Steven M. Yasbek
Vice President, Chief Financial Officer -
Steven M. Yasbek has served as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President since October 2006 after originally joining Alphatec Spine as Vice President, Finance and Corporate Controller. Prior to Alphatec, Mr. Yasbek was Vice President, Corporate Controller of REMEC, Inc., a publicly held international manufacturer of RF microwave products; and Vice President, Corporate Controller, and Chief Information Officer for Paradigm Wireless Systems, a privately held, international manufacturer of RF power amplifiers. He also held the positions of Corporate Controller of Intellisys Group, Inc. and Vice President, Corporate Controller, and Chief Information Officer for Pacific Scientific Company, which was acquired by Danaher Corporation. From 1989 to 1997, Mr. Yasbek held several senior level financial, IT, and operations positions with Symbol Technologies, Inc., and from 1975 to 1988, he held several senior level finance positions with TRW, Inc. Mr. Yasbek is a Certified Public Accountant and received a B.S. and an M.B.A. from Loyola Marymount University.

Gordon C. Bigler
Vice President, Finance, IR and Corp. Communications -
Gordon C. Bigler is the VP - Finance, IR and Corp. Communications. He joined Alphatec Spine as Vice President, Investor Relations and Corporate Communications in March 2007. Prior to Alphatec, Mr. Bigler served as Director of Investor Relations at Broadcom Corporation. His background includes over ten years of investor relations and corporate finance experience in industries ranging from technology, internet commerce, metals and mining, and investment banking. Mr. Bigler earned a B.A. from Claremont McKenna College and an M.B.A. from The University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

Charles O. Boyles
Vice President, Finance and Corporate Controller -
Charles O. Boyles joined Alphatec Spine as Vice President, Finance and Corporate Controller in January 2007. Prior to Alphatec, Mr. Boyles was Vice President, Controller of the Medical Products Division of Teleflex Medical, Inc., a publicly held international manufacturer of airway management, catheters and humidification medical products and Corporate Controller of Hudson RCI, a privately held international manufacturer of airway management and humidification medical devices that was acquired by Teleflex Medical, Inc. He also held the positions of Corporate Controller of 24 Fitness, Inc. and Director of Internal Audit for Fortune Brands. Mr. Boyles is a Certified Public Accountant and received a B.B.A. from James Madison University.

Ebun S. Garner, Esq.
General Counsel and Vice President, Compliance -
Ebun S. Garner, Esq. has served as General Counsel and Vice President, Compliance since August 2006 after originally joining Alphatec Spine in 2005 as Vice President of Legal Affairs. Prior to Alphatec, Mr. Garner was a corporate associate in the New York office of the law firm of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. While at Mintz Levin, Mr. Garner provided counsel to a variety of orthopedic device and drug discovery companies, and prior to Mintz Levin, he was a corporate associate in the New York office of the law firm of Squadron, Ellenoff, Plesent and Sheinfeld, LLP. Mr. Garner is admitted to practice law in the State of New York. He received a B.A. from University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from New York University School of Law.

Gary Fredericks has served as Alphatec's Vice President of Corporate Accounts since April 2008. Prior to joining Alphatec, Gary was employed as Vice President of Corporate Accounts and Channel Development for Aesculap, Inc. the world's largest manufacturer of surgical instrumentation.

Susan L. Johnson
Vice President, Human Resources -
Susan L. Johnson has held the position of Vice President, Human Resources at Alphatec Spine since November 2006. Previously, Ms. Johnson was Vice President of Human Resources for FFF Enterprises, a wholesale distributor of biopharmaceutical products; Vice President of Human Resources for Dimension One Spas, a manufacturer of luxury portable hot tubs; and Vice President of Human Resources for Sulzer Dental, a manufacturer of Class III FDA regulated implantable medical and dental devices. In total, Ms. Johnson has more than 20 years of human resources experience, much of which at the senior leadership level. She holds the designation of Senior Professional in Human Resources (S.P.H.R.) from The Human Resources Certification Institute, the leading independent, internationally recognized certifying body for the human resources profession. Ms. Johnson earned a B.S. (Cum Laude) from California State University at San Marcos and an M.A. from the California School of Professional Psychology.

Stephen A. Lubischer
Vice President, Sales -
Stephen A. Lubischer has served as Vice President, Sales for the U.S. since November 2006. He originally joined Alphatec Spine in 2005 as Regional Vice President for the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic and led the territory through seven consecutive quarters of significant growth. Prior to Alphatec, Mr. Lubischer's background includes 11 years of experience in senior sales management at Interpore Cross International, including Eastern Vice President of Sales and National Sales Manager of Distribution. He began working for Interpore Orthopaedics when the orthopaedic division was first established in 1990 and was instrumental in building the division. In addition, Mr. Lubischer's experience includes six years as Vice President of Sales at Immedica, Inc. and at Bionx Implants, both east coast orthopedic companies. Mr. Lubischer received his B.A. from Boston College.

Kathryn Liljestrand
Vice President of Marketing -
Kathryn Liljestrand joined Alphatec Spine as Vice President of Marketing in September 2007. Since 2005 Mrs. Liljestrand was Vice President of Marketing for IsoTis Orthobiologics, a global leader in orthobiologics products for the treatment of musculoskeletal diseases and disorders. From 2000 to 2005, Mrs. Liljestrand served in various senior marketing and product development capacities at Smith & Nephew. From 1998 to 2000, Mrs. Liljestrand served as Senior Director of Sales for Surgical Dynamics and was responsible for $100.0 million in sales for the U.S. spinal products division. From 1996 to 1998, Mrs. Liljestrand served as Vice President of Marketing for Wright Medical Technology. From 1994 to 1995 Mrs. Liljestrand served as Senior Product Manager for Sofamor Danek Group, Inc., which was eventually purchased by Medtronic Inc. Mrs. Liljestrand holds a B.A. in English Literature from Siena College.

Kermit P. Stott
Vice President of Operations -
Kermit P. Stott joined Alphatec Spine as Vice President of Opertions in September 2007. Mr. Stott was formerly General Manager of Lean Operations for Edwards Lifesciences Corporation, a global leader in cardiovascular disease treatments with extensive global operations, since 2005. From 2001 to 2005, Mr. Stott served as Director of Operations at Interventional Technology, which was eventually acquired by Boston Scientific Corporation. From 1990 to 2001, Mr. Stott served as General Manager of Sulzer Dental, a subsidiary of Sulzer Medical, a $4.0 billion Swiss Company focused on medical device manufacturing. Mr. Stott served on active duty for five years in the U.S. Navy and retired with the rank of Commander in the U.S. Naval Reserves. Mr. Stott holds a B.S. in Operational Analysis from the United States Naval Academy, a M.A. in International Relations from University of San Diego, and a M.B.A from Pepperdine University.

Michael M. Soloway
Vice President, Medical Education -
Michael M. Soloway joined Alphatec Spine in January 2007 as Vice President, Medical Education. Previous to joining Alphatec, he was Director of Sales Training at IsoTis OrthoBiologics for two years and Medical Education Director at Interpore Cross International for 11 years, where he developed a highly respected sales training program. He has conducted educational sessions domestically and internationally for over 1,000 sales representatives and has coordinated innovative national and international sales meetings. Mr. Soloway's orthopaedic career began in 1981 as a sales representative for Osteonics and Ace Medical. During the 1970's, Mr. Soloway worked in the Santa Monica Unified School District training teachers, helping to integrate exceptional children into the regular classroom environment and assisting with the design and implementation of the California Master Plan for Special Education. He received B.A., M.A., and Ed.D. degrees from University of California, Los Angeles.

J.P. Timm
Vice President of Research and Development -
J. P. Timm has served as Alphatec's Vice President of Research and Development since February 2008. Prior to joining Alphatec, Mr. Timm served as Vice President of Research and Development at Applied Spine Technologies Inc. since 2004. From 1999 to 2004, Mr. Timm served in various engineering and research and development capacities at Interpore Cross International, most recently as Director of Development, Anterior Fusion and Disc Systems. From 1997 to 1999, Mr. Timm served as a Development Engineer with Biomet, Inc. Mr. Timm has had deep involvement in developing new products for spinal pathologies, is a named inventor on several patents, and an author of several peer-reviewed publications. Mr Timm has extensive experience with bringing products to market through both the 510(k) premarket approval process, as well as through a PMA approval process. Mr. Timm is a charter member of the Spine Arthroplasty Society and earned a B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York.

Mitsuo Asai
President of Alphatec Pacific, Inc. -
Mitsuo Asai has served as President of Alphatec Pacific, Inc. ("API"), a wholly owned subsidiary of Alphatec Holdings, Inc. since April 2008. Prior to joining Alphatec, Mr. Asai was the President of Tokai Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of consumer goods with annual sales of approximately 10 billion yen (approximately US$100 million) and over 285 employees, since 2006. From 2002 to 2004, Mr. Asai served as General Manager and President of Virbac Japan Co., Ltd., a company that focused on veterinary pharmaceuticals and healthcare products. From 1998 to 2002, Mr. Asai served as President and CEO of Vital Link Corporation, a distributor of cardiovascular medical devices in Japan. From 1985 to 1996, Mr. Asai held various positions of increasing responsibility with Beckman Coulter, K.K., a leading manufacturer of biomedical testing instrument systems. Mr. Asai earned a Bachelor of Arts in Law from Kyoto Ryukoku University in 1979.
